Originally hailing from Toronto, Criminal Hero is a project built on sonic momentum, driven by rhythm, energy and an impressive understanding of what makes rock music connect. Drawing from the swagger and attitude of 70s rock while injecting the force of modern punk and alternative influences, Criminal Hero filters classic songwriting stylings through a modern rock lens, resulting in music that feels familiar but determined to finds its own path.
The journey behind the project is stitched into the music itself and while Toronto provided the origins, instilling a love of hard-edged guitars and timeless rock songwriting, Criminal Hero’s identity was shaped across multiple cities. Detroit became a crucial chapter in that story, offering an environment of determination, creativity and a passionate musical culture. Being surrounded by musicians playing small venues and dedicating themselves to sound left a lasting impression, helping develop both the sound and the mindset behind the project. The final stage came in Vancouver, where the recordings were completed and the various influences gathered along the way began to settle into an emphatic artistic vision.
That combination of locations has given Criminal Hero a distinct character that formed during the project’s final stage of creation in Vancouver. This year, he’s gone from strength to strength with a string of well-received tracks and now he brings us his latest outing with his new single titled “Walk Through The Fire,” the fourth single lifted from his forthcoming debut full-length record.

Forged with a rhythm-focused style, “Walk Through The Fire” avoids the temptation to overwhelm by eschewing sheer volume or modern rock excess in favour of carefully controlled energy. The song moves with confidence, propelled by a driving pulse while big hooks sit at the centre of the track, creating an instant connection while allowing the underlying tension to continue building. The track explores themes of confrontation, consequence and personal choice, ideas that are reflected in the music’s structure, where tension and release work together to create a sense of progression throughout.
Jumping straight in with the rattle of uptempo drums and twanging guitar chords, Criminal Hero’s swaggering vocals roll above to craft an exhilarating rock n’ roll outing. Flowing with relentless forward motion, the track rises to an infectious chorus where punk-inflected leads ring out above the lively instrumentation to lay down an epic jam that’s sure to win over fans of classic rock while impressing modern listeners alike. Cut with slick lead guitar licks, “Walk Through The Fire” delivers a potent dose of energising rock music packed full of invigorating energy, catchy hooks and raucous guitar-driven vibes.
With “Walk Through The Fire,” Criminal Hero continues to establish a compelling identity ahead of the debut album. The track captures the qualities that have defined the project from the beginning, with rhythm, momentum, melody and determination all melting into an incredible musical experience. As he continues to share more of his engaging sonic output, we can’t wait to see what comes next from this exciting new artist on their breakout year.
