Coming out of the UK’s rock music scene, Loudness Wars have quickly become one of the most exciting new names to come from the current alternative rock landscape. Built on friendship, sonic exploration and a shared love of music that hits with both force and feeling, the trio have created a sound that connects the spirit of classic rock with the impact of modern production.
Leading Loudness Wars is frontman Jerome, a Sri Lankan-born, UK-raised artist whose voice and guitar work give the band its defining aesthetic. His songwriting draws from the emotional intensity of grunge while carrying a sense of storytelling that strides beyond straightforward rock formulas. Heavy riffs collide with moments of reflection, creating songs that feel as personal as they are powerful. His influences may include the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Foo Fighters but the band’s output transforms those inspirations into something entirely their own.
The chemistry behind Loudness Wars comes from a genuine history between its members; bassist Rich, a university friend of Jerome and a long-time musical collaborator, brings a connection that’s grown through years of playing together. Drummer Ian completes the trio, with his friendship with Rich stretching back to childhood. That shared background gives the band a natural rhythm, built on trust, humour and a familiarity that cannot be created overnight.
The earliest days of Loudness Wars were shaped by relaxed jam sessions, where ideas developed organically and the trio discovered a musical connection that felt truly alive. That sense of unity became clear when the band entered the studio with London-based producer Jay to record their debut single “Withered Flower” in late 2024. The track marked the beginning of a new chapter, capturing the energy and emotional honesty that sits at the heart of their music. Since then, Loudness Wars have continued to build momentum, releasing further singles and arriving in 2026 with “Spin You Around.”

Now, their latest release titled “Tears Won’t Dry,” takes their sound into even more dramatic areas, combining the punch of alternative rock with a cinematic atmosphere inspired by classic western imagery. Penned with Neil Young in mind, particularly the distorted energy of albums such as Weld, “Tears Won’t Dry” channels that same sense of guitar-driven emotion. The track also carries the darker influence of bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, balancing crushing heaviness with a feeling of isolation and reflection.
The song itself explores survival, determination and the struggle to keep moving when everything feels stacked against you. Set against the backdrop of a harsh desert frontier filled with abandoned towns, lonely highways and endless sunsets, “Tears Won’t Dry” becomes a grunge anthem with the atmosphere of a classic spaghetti western. Setting a murky soundscape of rolling drums and smokey guitar plucks, the track flows with emotive vocal leads and steady rhythmic march. Dashed with bright bass lines and moody melodic writing, it’s a thoroughly transportive alternative rock jam that surges with crunching guitars and belted vocal leads, resulting in an engrossing anthem cut with slick lead guitar work and brooding tone.
The accompanying video expands that world into a tense cinematic story inspired by the dramatic style and visual intensity of Sergio Leone’s western films. The video follows a chase through dusty streets, shadow-filled saloons and empty landscapes with Rich and Ian stepping into the roles of hardened outlaws searching for the villain, played by lead singer Jay, whose character carries the cold presence of a traditional western antagonist inspired by Lee Van Cleef.
As the story plays out, Jay’s character kidnaps a woman from a bar before escaping into the desert, leaving Rich and Ian to pursue him through a world of betrayal, danger and revenge. It’s a thrilling visual pairing for the superb new single from Loudness Wars who continue to impress with their mission to create rock music that’s emotional, memorable and utterly captivating.
