Only fourteen years old, Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Shumo AG is already walking a creative path that belies his young age. Balancing school life with an increasingly international musical profile, the Queensland artist has established himself through emotionally driven songwriting, expressive guitar playing and a growing catalogue of original material that explores family, hope, personal growth and the complex nature of facing emotions. His ability to pair heartfelt vocals with melodic guitar work has become a defining characteristic of his sound, with his solos often acting as a second voice within the music itself.
Shumo’s relationship with music began early; playing guitar and singing since the age of eight, he quickly developed a passion for creating songs that combine emotional honesty with strong melodic appeal. Taking cues from artists known for emotional rock and modern storytelling, he’s built a style that balances acoustic warmth with cinematic scale, allowing personal experiences and widely relatable themes to sit alongside one another. Shumo AG has already achieved remarkable recognition, with his song “Mom” becoming a viral success across social platforms, clocking more than ten million views and introducing his music to a global audience.
Alongside that online breakthrough, he’s earned success in numerous national and international music and songwriting competitions, including the Australian National Songwriting Competition, the Queensland Young Composers’ Competition and the North American Virtuoso International Music Competition. His growing reputation has also taken him to major stages, performing at MTV School Fest in front of tens of thousands of people and appearing at Hue MegaBooming 2025 in Vietnam before an audience exceeding 20,000 attendees.

Now, Shumo AG enters an exciting new chapter with the release of “Iron Veins,” a bilingual single that represents one of the most ambitious projects of his career thus far. The brand new track sees the young Australian artist collaborating with Indonesian group Batas Senja in a partnership that brings together cultures, languages and audiences across continents. Written by Shumo AG, “Iron Veins” pairs his English-language vocals with Indonesian lyrics contributed by Batas Senja in a collaboration that emerged through a shared connection to the song itself, with both artists working together over a three-month period to reshape the track for a broader Indonesian audience while preserving the emotional context of Shumo’s original composition.
Throughout the process, Shumo’s songwriting, guitar work and artistic identity remained at the centre of the project. Brought in by delicate piano notes and the elegant sweep of strings, Shumo’s airy guitar leads glide in to float above the intricate arrangement before hushed vocals enter with emotive melodic leads. Flowing with the laid back taps of drums, Shumo’s tender voice engages in a stunning duet with Batas Senja before the track surges with crunching guitars to form an engrossing rock anthem packed full of gripping melodies and driving rhythms.
Cut with stunning lead guitar work, “Iron Veins” sees Shumo AG and Batas Senja deliver an incredible collaboration that’s more than the sum of its parts. With more music, live performances and an upcoming EP on the horizon, Shumo AG is steadily expanding both his sound and his reach. “Iron Veins” serves as a powerful reminder that age is no barrier to ambition, creativity or connection and as he continues to grow as a songwriter and performer, the young Australian artist is proving that honest storytelling and genuine emotion can travel astonishingly far.
Commenting on the release, Shumo AG shares, “The connection with Batas Senja came about because my music started reaching listeners in Indonesia, and that was already very special for me. My online audience became really strong there, and a lot of people in the community started suggesting that Batas Senja and I should connect or work together. What I like most is that Iron Veins became a bridge between two musical worlds. Through this collaboration, the song grew beyond its original form and became something that connects Australia and Indonesia through music.”
