Toddy T’s relationship with electronic music began not in a studio, but in the middle of a crowd. Back in 2016, a visit to Boomtown Festival sparked an obsession that would eventually flourish into a full creative pursuit. Watching the energy flow between DJ and audience left a lasting impression, inspiring him to start experimenting with mixing on a set of basic bedroom decks and that personal fascination quickly bloomed into something bigger, with Toddy T becoming a familiar source of entertainment at house parties before taking his ambitions beyond the bedroom walls.
That early enthusiasm led him to Zante, where he spent a season performing at major clubs and boat parties, gaining valuable experience in front of live audiences. As his confidence behind the decks grew, so too did his curiosity about how the music itself was made. DJing gradually opened the door to production and before long he was focused on developing his own sound. Since then, he’s performed across the UK, earning his reputation within the drum and bass scene.
Among the most significant moments of that journey was his first main room appearance at Amusement 13 in Birmingham, a performance delivered through a powerful sound system to a packed crowd that fully embraced the atmosphere he was creating. Now, after stepping away from music for four years, Toddy T returns with new creative focus and a project that reflects both his absence and his reawakening.
His brand new album titled Return, arrives as a sixteen-track statement of intent, designed specifically for dancefloors, DJs and drum and bass enthusiasts seeking high-energy music built to generate movement. The title itself tells much of the story; Return is a reflection of Toddy T’s own journey and after four years away from music, the project documents his re-entry into a world that first captured his imagination a decade ago.

Across its sixteen tracks, Return embraces the adrenaline-fuelled qualities that have made drum and bass such an enduring force within electronic music culture. Heavyweight basslines form the frame of the release, balancing deep low-end pressure with crisp upper frequencies that cut through while alongside them sit sharp, slapping drum patterns that conjure a physical response, creating the rhythmic impact that feels engineered for crowded rooms and late-night sound systems.
Dynamic switch-ups appear throughout the record, ensuring that no idea stays static for too long. Influenced by the loose energy of jump-up drum and bass, Toddy T combines unpredictable shifts with high-impact drops designed to keep listeners engaged from start to finish. From the raucous energy of “Badman” to the intricate blend of melodic vocals and aggressive bursts of synths on “Burn It Down” to the consuming atmosphere of closing track “The Pretender,” the album delivers an enthralling listening experience throughout.
The project is also notable for the independence behind its creation, with each aspect of Return handled by Toddy T himself within his home studio. From production through to mixing and mastering, the album stands as a completely self-directed undertaking and that level of creative control gives the project a strong sense of identity, with every detail aligned to his personal vision of what a comeback record should sound like.
The album’s concept extends beyond the music itself with its space-themed artwork depicting a spaceman preparing for a journey home, mirroring Toddy T’s own return to the creative world after years away. With Return, Toddy T transforms a period of absence into a source of inspiration while capturing the excitement of rediscovering purpose and channeling it into engaging musical expression. It’s the sound of an artist reconnecting with the passion that first arose at a festival crowd in 2016 and bringing it back to the dancefloor with greater energy than ever before.
