Born in New York and now based in Miami, Michael Grandel is an electronic DJ and producer whose work lands at the crossroads of underground club culture, cinematic songwriting and scientific context. As an artist, he creates house and techno that is built not just for movement but for emotional release, combining driving rhythms, euphoric synths and carefully crafted vocal moments into a sound that feels equally physical and human.
Before stepping fully into music, he worked in software engineering and science, a background that continues to influence the way he approaches creativity. His artistic world is informed by ideas of movement, physics and the relationship between structure and feeling, a balance between precision and emotion that’s become a central pillar in his sound, allowing him to create productions that feel intricately designed while still carrying the energy of a live dancefloor experience.
His music forms in a space between underground club pressure and moments of pure release, forged with powerful drums, slick sound design and bright synth work. His tracks distil the feeling of losing yourself in sound while still maintaining a strong emotional magnetism, offering a way to explore intensity, connection and personal transformation through rhythm. Capturing his sound in the studio over the last three years, he first shared his output in 2023 with the debut single “Diskoteka(99),” which he quickly followed up with a trio of tracks before taking a hiatus from sharing his productions.

This year he’s returned with new material, dropping a string of impressive tracks and now brings us his latest release with the brand new single titled āEta Carinae,ā a powerful house and techno outing that captures the full scale of Michael’s vision. Named after the volatile and hyper-luminous star system, the track transforms the idea of radiance under pressure into a physical and emotional experience. āEta Carinaeā forms an instant sense of momentum, with the pulse of bass and punchy kick met by the buzz of buzzing synth elements as the percussion steadily builds up.
Through its driving dance setting, āEta Carinaeā explores the feeling of returning to yourself after emotional uncertainty and intensity, capturing a moment where the body reconnects with its own power before the mind fully understands it. In that sense, the song becomes an anthem of self-reclamation built around movement and release. The production balances force and atmosphere, creating a space where powerful electronic textures meet a distinctly human voice; taking cues from the spirit of classic 90s house vocals while embracing modern festival-scale energy, the vocals cut through the trackās enthralling arrangement to create a contrast between personal reflection and collective celebration.
As the energy swells, the track simmers down to leave space for the spoken word style vocals to ring out before launching into a stomping dance scene packed full of gripping rhythm and consuming aesthetic. With āEta Carinae,ā Michael Grandel continues to map out a sound that brigs together underground house and techno with cinematic ambition, offering a cutting edge electronic sound that’s sure to light up dancefloors and airwaves around the world.
