Hailing from Zofingen in Switzerland, Eon Awa is forging a creative identity that reaches far beyond music alone. A pop artist, composer and Creative Director, he approaches every release as part of a wider, interconnected artistic vision, bringing together music and visual storytelling with equal care. His work is characterised by an elegant sense of style that never loses its playful tone, balancing emotional impact with wit while repeatedly returning to questions of identity, individuality and conformity.
Through soulful ballads to rhythm-driven pop, Eon Awa creates work that feels highly personal while remaining open enough for listeners to find their own reflections within it. That outlook extends into every aspect of his career; alongside developing his music, Eon is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Film at the Zurich University of the Arts, further building the close relationship between sound and visual story that defines his creative output.
With his music, Eon draws inspiration from artists including Mariah Carey, RAYE and Candy Dulfer, resulting in a sound that moves between pop, soul and funk. His songs are capable of shifting from intimate ballads to infectious grooves while always retaining their emotional centre, reflecting an artist equally interested in expression and honest storytelling. His vocal range mirrors that versatility, moving from rich lower registers to soaring highs that give his performances both warmth and dramatic intensity.
At the heart of his songwriting is a long-standing creative partnership with his childhood friend and pianist Ben and together, the pair write and produce music that channels emotional honesty, frequently pairing emotive subject matter with humour, lightness and pop appeal. Their collaboration continually explores the tension between self-definition and the pressures to conform, creating songs that examine personal experience while speaking to broader human emotions.

Since releasing his debut album MORE in 2021, Eon Awa has steadily confirmed his status as one of Switzerland’s most exciting artists on the rise. That debut year also saw him win the Swiss competition BandX Nordwest, an achievement that helped introduce his unique artistic voice to wider audiences. The years that followed have seen his profile continue to grow through an impressive series of live appearances and accolades. He’s performed as a support act for Crimer and Anna Rossinelli, while also playing alongside Sina and the Argovia Philharmonic Orchestra.
Festival appearances in Basel, Lugano and Montreux have further amplified his live reputation, showcasing performances built around emotional intensity and a confident stage presence. Now, Eon Awa enters another important chapter with the release of his new EP titled DRAMA, a dix-track release that ventures even further into the emotional contradictions that have become central to his artistic identity.
Following the transportive intro piece “Dear Listener,” the stacks of vocal layers, immersive arrangement and hypnotic beat of “BURN IT FROM WITHIN” puts Eon’s theatrical vocal performance on full display with a cinematic alternative pop anthem full of pattering percussion and wholly absorbing instrumentation. “Pathmaker,” featuring Angie Magaso forms an intimate scene of hushed vocals and delicate instrumental elements, gradually swelling with pulsing percussion and dazzling vocal leads.
“skin and bones” leans into a rock setting with an uptempo outing brimming with slick guitar lines and expressive vocals which launches into a thrilling chorus of charging energy to deliver an exhilarating listening experience. “LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE” drifts into focus with woozy synth tones and tender vocals before surging with dramatic bursts of energy and the crisp taps of the beat. Closing the release with “You and I,” Eon lays down an engaging synth-driven alternative pop outing that concludes the EP on an infectious note.
