Originally hailing from Malaysian and now based in London, artist Jemerine Chan has forged her unique musical identity around transformation, emotion and connection. A multi-genre singer-songwriter and producer, Jemerine creates music that moves between different styles while remaining tethered to a sense of both storytelling and the power of human experience. Jemerine views music as a way of communicating emotions that are sometimes difficult to express, bringing together different cultures and perspectives through melody and meaning.
Her sonic vision has been a lifetime in the making and by the age of seven, she was already singing and playing piano, later developing a passion for composition during primary school where she began writing her own piano pieces. Inspired by artists including Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, BlackPink and Ariana Grande, she grew up surrounded by pop influences while developing her own style of songwriting and production.
That creative journey continued through her studies, resulting in a First-Class Honours degree in Electronic Music Production from BIMM London in 2024. The combination of technical knowledge and emotional songwriting has helped Jemerine develop a sound that allows each track to find its own aesthetic based on the story it needs to tell. Her rise within the UK independent music scene began gaining significant momentum that year with the release of her empowering single “Black Rose.” The track earned a Silver Medal in the Music Demo category at the Global Asian Creative Awards and made its live debut at the British Kebab Awards, where Jemerine performed the song to an audience of a thousand people.
Since then, Jemerine has continued expanding her presence through performances at venues and events including ESEA Music Festival 2025, O2 Islington, The Ned and Chesham Fringe Festival. Her music has also received radio support, with tracks including “Never Ever Die” and “Adrenaline Rush” gaining attention from Hitz FM and BBC Introducing. Throughout last year alone, she achieved tens of thousands of organic streams, secured seven Spotify editorial playlist placements and performed at three music festivals, reflecting the steady growth of an artist building her audience through both recorded music and live experiences.

Now, Jemerine Chan opens an exciting new chapter with her most ambitious project thus far, bringing us her debut nine-track album titled Reset. A genre-agnostic record centred around personal growth, healing and revival, Reset explores the different moments in life when people are forced to change, rebuild and rediscover themselves. The album takes its name from the cycles of transformation that shape everyone’s journey, whether through adolescence, starting a career, facing heartbreak or experiencing moments that require a complete personal rebuild.
Opening with “Wondering,” the album begins with curiosity and openness, capturing the first step towards growth and becoming a better version of yourself, captured in a delicate soundscape of elegant vocals and dreamy textures which gently swell with the sparse pulse of instrumentation and bubbling tones. Reset then moves through different emotional landscapes with “Let Go” leaning into an intimate indie folk scene where soft acoustic guitar tones and hushed vocals combine to cast a mesmeric musical moment that’s memorable and moving in equal measure.
“Goodbye” featuring British-Filipino indie pop artist YRL Carlo$ brings collaboration into the album’s emotional journey, blending their different creative perspectives before “Trouble”, the album’s main track, focuses on self-worth and recognising when something no longer deserves your time or energy, delivering a message about walking away from situations that do not serve you. Songs such as “Like A Pro” continue exploring internal battles, transforming fear and self-doubt into a defiant anthem about refusing to let insecurity take control, showcasing Jemerine’s alternative pop stylings with a beat-driven jam that rolls with zappy synth elements and infectious vocal performance.
The album’s later chapters focus on confidence, positivity and acceptance, with “Future” serving up an uplifting statement about choosing kindness and strength captured in a grooving, hip hop-inflected outing cut with slick hooks and spacey vocal textures. Final track “Better,” Reset delivers an emotional conclusion that frames the idea that growth doesn’t require perfection, only the courage to continue moving forward. Presented in a graceful piano-driven setting, it’s a dazzling finale that brings Jemerine Chan’s sensational debut album to a tender and truly memorable close.
Commenting on the release, Jemerine offers, “We all go through a few resets in life, through our teens, a first job, a midlife crisis. This album is about that whole cycle: hitting the lowest point, slowly healing, and coming back as a better version of yourself. Every track is a different genre because every part of that journey feels completely different.”
