Ho Chi Minh City-based independent artist Kiey has built a musical world where dreamy electronic pop meets intimate reflections on love, desire and loneliness. Working entirely from his own creative vision, Kiey takes control of every part of the process, from writing poignant lyrics to crafting detailed production, creating songs that feel profoundly personal while carrying the atmosphere of contemporary global pop. Kiey is the youngest son of the founding family behind Biti’s but his artistic journey has followed its own distinctive path.
Away from his family’s business legacy, he’s established himself as an independent singer-songwriter and producer, developing a catalogue informed by creative freedom and unique artistic expression. Through English-language pop, R&B and alternative influences, he’s created a sound that reflects both his Vietnamese origins and his lifelong connection with international pop music. Growing up listening to US and UK pop, Kiey developed an appreciation for artists who combine emotional storytelling with strong sonic identities. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Lana Del Rey, Britney Spears and Madonna, he’s forged his own interpretation of pop music built around euphoric melodies, ethereal textures and carefully crafted electronic arrangements.
His unique sound first landed publicly in 2018 with debut single “Drunk Black Cat” which was followed by a series of singles before Kiey unveiled his debut album Night To Myself in 2019. Since then, Kiey has continued expanding his catalogue through singles, EPs and his second full-length album Sunday Sanctuary, released in 2022. Across each release, he’s remained steadfast in his mission to create music that feels immersive and emotionally compelling, exploring the complex nature of human connection through slick electronic production and reflective songwriting.

Now Kiey opens another chapter with “phan thiet,” the lead single from his forthcoming third album titled METROMIRAGE. The nw track represents a shift in both language and perspective, moving away from his previous English-titled releases while maintaining the international dream pop and R&B influences that have shaped his sound thus far. Despite its simple Vietnamese title, “phan thiet” carries a relatable emotional context that revisits the memory of a young man experiencing a dreamlike coastal journey with someone he loves, capturing the beauty of a moment that exists somewhere between reality and imagination.
The song’s background is closely tied to the place that inspired its name; during the Lunar New Year of 2026, while travelling with his family along the coastal road from Phan Thiết back to Ho Chi Minh City, Kiey found himself moved by the landscape around him. Watching the waves and feeling the sea breeze, he instinctively opened his phone and began recording the first melodies and lyrics that came to mind. Brought in by the woozy texture of hazy piano tones, Kiey’s alluring vocals drift in to reel off delicate melodic leads which float above the building groove of the arrangement.
Above the rattling snap of drums and pulse of bass, his mesmeric voice spins tender melodic leads to form an engrossing slice of beat-driven, R&B-inflected dream pop that’s catchy, transportive and truly impossible not to love. Brimming with blissful melodic writing, immersive instrumentation and steady rhythmic momentum, “phan thiet” sees Kiey serve up a stunning jam that’s sure to win over new and existing listeners alike. With his highly anticipated third record on the horizon, Kiey shows no signs of slowing down on his engaging musical adventure and we can’t wait to see what the new album has in store.
