Hailing from Kobiór in Poland, Paweł J.P. Hirlok is an artist whose music revolves around storytelling just as much as it does melody. Working independently as a lyricist, creative director and songwriter, he’s developed a cinematic musical style that moves between pop, rock, symphonic arrangements and orchestral soundscapes, creating songs that feel like intricately crafted scenes from a larger emotional sphere.
He places a strong emphasis on original lyrics and expressive storytelling, with each composition built around emotion first, serving to amplify the tales stitched throughout every release. Drawing inspiration from love, hope, memory, fantasy and the constant tension between light and darkness, his songs aim to transport listeners into vividly imagined worlds where cinematic atmosphere and personal feeling coalescence into engaging musical moments.
Over the last year, he’s been sharing his prolific creative output across multiple impressive releases and now Paweł J.P. Hirlok presents his brand new full-length record titled Perły. Translating to ‘Pearls’ in English, the album is conceived as a collection of individual musical treasures, with each of its twelve original tracks acting as a unique gem possessing its own atmosphere, personality and emotional identity. While every song stands on its own, together they create a connected journey that plays out with the pacing and scope of a cinematic soundtrack.
Across the record, Paweł blends symphonic rock with melodic pop, cinematic orchestration and elements of symphonic metal, creating an album that constantly shifts between intimacy and impact. Gentle piano-led passages give way to expansive arrangements filled with sweeping orchestral strings, dramatic brass, driving percussion, electric guitars and shimmering synths. The contrast between these quieter moments and larger, anthem-like climaxes gives the album a thrilling quality that continually rewards the listener’s attention.

Vocally, Perły embraces just as much variety as its instrumentation, with warm baritone performances siting alongside melodic tenor moments and more powerful, slightly raspier deliveries, each selected to suit the emotional tone of the song. Female harmonies, operatic soprano backing vocals and male-female duets further expand the album while emotional pop rock ballads flow naturally into energetic symphonic anthems and dramatic compositions are infused with gothic rock and symphonic metal influences.
Opened by “Diamentowe serce,” the LP starts with bright instrumental tones as airy lead guitar licks ring out above orchestral elements and the steady punch of drums, forming an uplifting sound as moving vocal lines cast a dazzling listening experience. “Dziewczyna o perłowych włosach” flows with the blend of elegant flute notes and soaring rock guitar leads before gliding through a cinematic scene capped by impassioned split vocals to deliver an enthralling rock duet brimming with powerful melodies and engrossing arrangement.
“Echa na lini” arrives with the graceful sweep of strings and soft piano notes as intimate vocals hover above, crafting an intimate sound that develops with the gentle pulse of percussion and swell of instrumental energy to serve up a stunning alternative pop soundscape. Other highlights on the record include songs like “Labirynt Barw” with its blissful melodic writing and rousing rock energy, offering a truly memorable musical moment that’s invigorating and impossible not to love.
The swirl of strings and flicker of electric guitar usher in a beautiful musical experience on “Szafirowy Blask” which progresses with strong melodies and anthemic aesthetic. “Zmierzch miłości” delivers a jolt of metal-inflected energy where crashing drums and chugging guitar rhythms underpin lively leads while choral vocal layers and commanding leads combine to lay down a thrilling sound. Closing the record with “Zostawiam Piekieł Tron,” the melancholic flutter of strings and punch of drums give way to dark guitar and the ominous march of percussion as theatrical vocals cast a spectacular finale to Paweł J.P. Hirlok’s new album.
Commenting on the release, Paweł shares, “For me, every song on this album is like a pearl — different in colour, shape and character, but valuable because of the emotion and story it carries.”
