Estonia-based Nigerian-American artist KEVIN DAVID KAYDEE has spent years creating a sound that’s as international as his life story. A recording artist, songwriter, producer, actor, voice-over artist and media practitioner, he creates songs that move between pop appeal and dancefloor energy while retaining a personal warmth. Influenced by icons such as Michael Jackson and Prince, his work unites Afrobeat grooves, gospel uplift, EDM energy and cinematic storytelling into a sound that’s struck a chord with listeners around the world.
Before his current solo chapter, KAYDEE made his mark alongside Swedish producer Martin Zeidner, then known as Martin Ericsson, as one half of the house music duo RHODY & KAYDEE. Together they delivered projects including Release the Beauty, Believe Me and Show Me, establishing themselves as a formidable presence within house music. That collaborative context remains central to his artistic vision today, even as his solo output has widened into an eclectic catalogue.
The breadth of his influences reflects a life shaped by movement between Nigeria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and Estonia. African rhythms meet European pop writing, while faith and story thread through music designed to connect across borders. Recent releases have showcased this versatility, from the Afro-house and EDM drive of Tallinn Vibe to the uplifting gospel-infused Afrobeat of “Oluwa Settle Me” and the heartfelt pop duet “I Canât Lose” with Estonian artist IVI. Beyond music, his cinematic instincts found expression in the short film Otoge, where African spiritual storytelling intertwines with medieval imagery in a tale of freedom and deliverance.

That same instinct for vivid atmosphere lies at the heart of his latest single titled âYou Make Summer Time Beautiful.â Recorded in his private studio with friends, the track feels wonderfully unforced, carrying the easy joy of a shared moment captured in sound. Throughout the track, KAYDEE allows warmth and sincerity to guide the song, resulting in a piece that shimmers with the very emotions it seeks to celebrate. Inspired by the dramatic transformation that accompanies the arrival of summer in Estonia, the single is wrapped in sensory detail.
The freshness of newly green landscapes, the inviting scent of meals enjoyed outdoors and the sound of carefree laughter all seem to shine within its melodies. It’s a portrait of the season not simply as weather, but as a state of mind; open, hopeful and alive with possibility. Beneath its summery glow however, the songâs true subject is human connection and âYou Make Summer Time Beautifulâ pays tribute to the people whose presence lifts everyday experience, turning ordinary days into cherished memories. Love and friendship become inseparable from the season itself, as though the warmth in the air is mirrored by the warmth shared between individuals.
In many ways, the single distils the essence of KEVIN DAVID KAYDEEâs artistic journey by drawing together the cross-cultural influences, genre fluidity and heartfelt lyricism that have marked his career, while presenting them in their most engaging form. âYou Make Summer Time Beautifulâ perfectly frames the idea that the brightest moments are often illuminated by the people we share them with and through that simple but enduring idea, KAYDEE once again proves his gift for creating music that speaks across cultures.
