Hailing from Sofia in Bulgaria, Strascha is an alternative pop artist who’s turned frustration, fear and difficult emotions into the fuel for a creative output that’s struck a chord with listeners around the world. Pronounced “stra-sha”, her name comes from the Bulgarian word “strah” meaning fear, a fitting moniker for an artist who sees uncomfortable emotions as powerful sources of inspiration, movement and self-expression.
Beginning her musical journey by making beats in her living room during a period of depression, sadness and spite, Strascha developed a unique creative ethos that views every emotion as having value if you’re willing to confront it. Taking feelings like fear, anger, jealousy or shame, she transforms them into art, using them as motivation and a way of understanding herself more completely. Her music forms in that overlap between struggle and confidence, exploring the idea that looking honestly at both the darker and brighter parts of ourselves can become its own form of liberation.
Through that lens, her music reflects a desire to experience everything fully, embracing contradiction and complexity while turning personal strife into energetic, expressive pop music. Strascha draws inspiration from a wide array of influences, including pop, R&B, hip hop, soul, hyperpop and jazz and by blending different influences with charismatic personality and a playful sense of humour, she creates music that feels highly unique, colourful and thoroughly infectious.

First unveiling her sound last summer with the debut single “insomnia,” she’s since followed up with a string of well-received tracks and now she brings us her latest release with her new single titled “bush.” Serving up a self-produced alternative pop anthem that captured the thrilling energy of artists such as Ashnikko, Cobrah and Charli xcx while remaining tethered to Strascha’s own style, “bush” combines humour, self-irony and intoxicating dance pop energy.
Thematically, the track frames a context of self-actualisation, rejecting fake connections and celebrating the freedom that comes from accepting yourself fully. Jumping into a brooding alternative pop scene with buzzy synth bass tones, rustling percussion and moody vocal leads, Strascha casts an energising soundscape that flows with uptempo rhythms and enveloping arrangement. Cut with instantly catchy vocal leads and wrapped up in a transportive sonic fabric, the track glides with intricate ebb and flow as the instrumentation dips and swells around her compelling vocal performance.
Peppered with bright flickers of synth tones and packed full of memorable melodic flourishes, it’s a potent pop outing delivered in a slick ninety-nine second package. With “bush,” Strascha continues to mark herself out as an artist with a unique and truly captivating sonic vision and in doing so, she’s fast becoming one of Bulgaria’s most exciting musical exports. As she shares more of her engaging artistic output with the world, we can’t wait to see what this rising artist has in store next on her enthralling musical adventure.
