Hailing from Guildford and South London, alternative rock trio 2far2jump have spent the last decade making an impact with a sound shaped by different generations of guitar music. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Harland-Cole, lead guitarist Rupert Barker and drummer Aaron Mann combine melodic guitar work, thought-provoking lyrics and powerful drums, taking cues from the likes of Palaye Royale, Linkin Park, You Me At Six, The Hunna, Badflower, Led Zeppelin and Greta Van Fleet, resulting in a sound that feels based in rock while remaining open to different eras and influences.
The band’s story began in 2015 with their debut single “The Training Ground” and since then, 2far2jump have built an impressive catalogue spanning multiple singles and two EPs, earning support from Kerrang! Radio, Kerrang! TV and BBC Introducing along the way. Their previous tracks have also found an audience on streaming platforms, with many clocking tens of thousands of spins on Spotify alone.
Now, after a period of relative quiet, the band are returning with “Think It Over,” an exhilarating and melodic new single that opens an exciting new chapter for the band. While the guitar-driven energy and emotional impact that have always defined 2far2jump remain firmly in place, the new track sees the band moving towards a more indie-leaning sound. Its subject matter is fittingly familiar, framing the exhausting loop of overthinking and the difficulty of escaping your own thoughts.

The band haven’t approached that topic from a distance, the song in fact grew directly out of an experience vocalist and guitarist Luke was having while travelling home on a bus when a melody arrived spontaneously, giving him the initial spark for what would become the finished track. There’s something particularly appropriate about a song concerning overthinking arising from a journey where there’s plenty of time to sit alone with your thoughts. Looking through a phone, watching the world pass outside the window or simply allowing the mind to wander can turn a short journey into an extended period of internal reflection and for Luke, that moment became the starting point for the song, before he took the idea home and brought it to the rest of the band.
Produced by Federico “Fed” Telesca, whose credits include work with Malevolence, EXTS, VIVAS and The Pretty Ugly, “Think It Over” balances punchy alternative rock instrumentation with the melodic appeal of indie influence. Set up by the twang of processed guitar leads, the arrangement crashes into view with driving drums and bouncy riffs before simmering down as Luke’s gentle vocals enter. Flowing with crunchy guitar stabs, snapping percussion and alluring vocal leads, the track glides with stunning melodic songwriting as it surges into an anthemic chorus where belted hooks and bright lead guitar work collide above charging instrumentation.
It’s a thrilling rock outing packed full of twists and turns, offering an invigorating listening experience from start to finish while marking 2far2jump’s return in spectacular fashion. After years of building their sound and audience, 2far2jump return with a track born from an ordinary journey and an all-too-familiar state of mind. As they continue to shine on this latest chapter, we can’t wait to see what comes next from this exciting band on their enduring musical adventure.
