Mattia Boone may have been born in Italy and is now based in Denmark but his musical world is built around the open-road spirit and emotional tone of modern country. As an independent singer-songwriter, he’s created a sound of heartfelt storytelling, transforming personal experiences of struggle, growth and passion into songs designed to connect with listeners around the world. His sonic output is direct and thoughtful, pairing contemporary country production with a respect for the genre’s long-standing ability to find relatable meaning in individual stories.
Influenced by artists such as Luke Combs, Mattia has built an international audience and through his music, videos and an expanding digital presence, he’s continued to develop a distinctive artistic identity based around emotional impact, cinematic storytelling and an ability to keep the songs attached to the experiences that inspired them. From working in the studio to bringing his music into a performance setting, Mattia sees each track as part of a wider journey, using the language of country music to explore the things that often define people’s lives such as uncertainty, determination, hope and the desire to keep moving forward.
He first introduced his artistic vision in October last year with his debut single, “Tomorrow We’ll Stand” and since then, he’s followed it with multiple singles and albums, continuing to build momentum while developing the emotional and sonic world around his songwriting. Now, he brings together that journey in his latest full-length release titled Highway Saints, an eight-track outing that blends classic country storytelling with modern Americana, creating a release that looks towards freedom, love, redemption and the difficult roads that connect them all.
Thematically, Highway Saints is about the people who reject the notion of being defined by their setbacks. Its songs are populated by the emotional context of real life experience but they are driven by forward motion; resilience becomes one of the album’s central themes, not so much as an abstract idea but as something found in the everyday decision to continue when life becomes difficult.

The road is an important presence throughout the record and it becomes a natural setting for an album concerned with freedom, change and the distance people travel, both physically and emotionally. The album is forged around honest lyrics, memorable melodies and organic country instrumentation and while its sound belongs to the modern country landscape, Highway Saints also honours the genre’s traditional storytelling style, where a personal experience can become the platform for something much larger. “Every song on this album represents a chapter of my journey. I hope listeners can find a part of themselves somewhere along the way,” he shares.
Opened by “Devil On My Tail,” the gentle flicker of warm guitar notes and airy harmonica textures combine with soft percussion taps to form an inviting scene as rich vocal leads glide in to stitch delicate melodies and picture painting lyrics into the country music fabric. Flowing with instantly catchy melodies, the chorus lands with singalong leads and steady rhythmic energy, resulting in a timeless country anthem that’s impossible not to love. “Cold Country Line” glides with the twang of guitar and pedal steel tones to set up a charming slice of classic country songwriting wrapped up in a modern sound to offer a memorable and engaging listening experience.
Songs like “One More Bullet” lean into a rock-tinged scene with the bite of electric guitar notes ushering in impassioned vocal performance to serve up an engrossing country rock moment packed full of belted vocals and rousing instrumentation. Title track “Highway Saints” forms with bright guitar layers and atmospheric lead notes as alluring vocals drift above to cast a sound that’s at once emotive and uplifting, developing with the laid back punch of drums and infectious chorus hooks.
“Broken Neon Lights” forms a downtempo scene of mellow percussion and dreamy instrumentation as softly delivered, hushed vocals float above to craft an intimate soundscape that frames Mattia’s stunning songwriting in a tender setting. Closing the album with “Outlaws Never Cry,” the plucks of guitar, flicker of lead notes and shimmer of instrumental tones builds with compelling vocals and surging arrangement to deliver a dazzling finale brimming with highly affecting lyricism and stellar melodic lines. With Highway Saints, Mattia Boone lays down eight incredible songs bound together by honesty, organic instrumentation and the belief that even the hardest journeys can still lead somewhere meaningful.
