Australian rapper, songwriter, director and producer IamSnap has built his musical vision around the experiences that sit at the more turbulent end of being human. Love, hate, breakups, makeups, addiction and everything in between provide the source material, resulting in songs that aim to deliver an emotional impact. Now a Billboard-charting artist, 2019 saw him make his artistic entrance with the debut single “I’m s Star” and since then he’s delivered multiple well-received singles, two EPs and a full-length record, End Game, which landed in 2023.
Along the way, collaborations have become an important part of his story, with IamSnap working alongside artists including Noah Fonoti, Penny Skehan, Krayzie Bone, Costie Payne, Jessica Brischetto, McNova, Jake Plumb, SarB, J-W4S, Allanah Fox and Lydia Caesar. His catalogue of collaborations extends into some significant hip hop sphere, having worked with Krayzie Bone and Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Swifty McVay of D12, B.G Knoccout and Curtis Young, son of Dr. Dre. He’s also written songs for artists including Honey Shazad, Chris Sheehy and Noah Fonoti.
The numbers behind some of those releases underline the momentum that’s developed around the project; in 2020, IamSnap featured on a project alongside E-40 that reached number four on the US iTunes Charts and the same project charted again the next year, reaching number one on iTunes and number 20 on Billboard. Then came The Entry, a pair of rap and pop EPs released on the first day of 2021. Within hours, the two projects had clocked hundreds of thousands of spins, while both entered the iTunes Top 50, peaking at numbers 31 and 33 respectively.

Now IamSnap turns his attention towards something considerably more personal with “Last Round,” a brand new single featuring Lydia Caesar. Thematically, the track revolves around a battle with depression and anxiety, expressed through the image of anxiety as a devil that won’t disappear. IamSnap confronts it directly and the writing moves through procrastination, self-doubt and creative paralysis, capturing the frustrating cycles that can make forward movement feel almost impossible. “Last Round” isn’t ultimately a song about surrender though, its emotional context moves towards defiance, transforming a private struggle into a statement of determination.
Opened by the bubble of soft synth textures, bright brass tones filter in before the track jumps into a slick hip hop scene where IamSnap’s razor sharp rapped delivery flows over the crisp punch of the beat. Gliding with woozy organ tones and steady rhythmic energy, the track surges into an anthemic chorus where Lydia’s belted soulful vocals stitch infectious melodic hooks into the enthralling musical fabric. Cut with flashes of pitched vocal elements and instilled with lively energy throughout, “Last Round” serves up an invigorating hip hop outing that’s empowering, memorable and guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
Once again delivering another spectacular collaborative track, IamSnap and Lydia Caesar present an epic jam that’s sure to win over listeners all over the world. Following last year’s “Larger Than Life,” the new single continues a new chapter for IamSnap, which builds upon a career already marked by chart success, high-profile collaborations and an expanding body of impressive work. As he continues going from strength to strength with each move, we can’t wait to see what comes next on his thrilling artistic adventure.
