Coming out of Milton Keynes, SIR-VERE have spent the last decade breaking down the separation between rock and electronic music. Led by Craig’s distinctive voice, the group have built their output around the collision of guitar-driven rock with acid house, techno, electro and breaks, creating a sound that’s engrossing and unlike any other. Across a growing catalogue of singles, EPs, albums, remixes and remasters, their sonic offering has remained driven by experimentation and a steadfast desire to keep exploring new musical spheres.
Their journey kicked off in 2014 with TIMEBOMB, a debut record that mapped out the band’s genre-fluid ambitions and ever since the, SIR-VERE have consistently applied electronic influences as decoration around a conventional rock framework Their thrilling adventure has continued to gather momentum, particularly since Ian McEwan joined the band in 2023, expanding the group into a four-piece and opening up further possibilities for their collective sonic vision.
The addition of Ian represented an important shift for SIR-VERE; with a broader lineup came the opportunity to explore their experimental stylings even further, building on a philosophy that’s always been central to the project, that no genre should be treated as a boundary. Their catalogue has grown through multiple releases, while recent projects including the reissue of the cult album Singulus on Big Fat Mama Beats and The Fivesome, a retrospective collection celebrating the band’s early work, have offered new perspectives on the path they’ve travelled.

Now, however, SIR-VERE are entering perhaps their most ambitious chapter thus far with The God Machine, a collaborative album created alongside award-winning producer Vodzilla. Having initially started as a remix project, the endeavour has since bloomed over eighteen months into something far more substantial and as the music took shape, the idea of simply reworking existing material gave way to a completely new album with its own identity, bringing together the shared interests of both artists.
The first window into that world now arrives with the brand new single titled “New Age Girl,” an exciting meeting of alternative pop, electronic rock and dance music. Revolving around infectious hooks, big beat rhythms and cinematic sound design, the track captures the energy that’s always been present in SIR-VERE’s sound while bringing their electronic side further into the foreground. Setting an atmospheric scene with the pulse of synth textures, the shuffle of crisp percussion injects an instant forward motion as smokey vocalisations drift into view.
A ghost-like female guest vocalist adds melodic leads to the track, introducing a soulful presence that contrasts with the heavier electronic aesthetic and driving punch of the beat. Taking cues from acts like The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Justice, Nine Inch Nails and Chase & Status, “New Age Girl” rolls with danceable momentum and transportive synth-focused arrangement cut with intoxicating vocal hooks, resulting in an enthralling jam that brings together SIR-VERE and Vodzilla’s sound in spectacular fashion.
The collaboration that started as Vodzilla: The SIR-VERE Files gradually transformed into a project that required to become its own record to craft a shared creative space between the two artists. “New Age Girl” feels like another doorway into SIR-VERE’s constantly expanding universe where guitars can crash into club rhythms, cinematic textures can meet poweful beats and the only real rule is to keep moving forward.
