Music has been part of Tugen’s life for as long as he can remember; growing up in São Paulo, the DJ and producer first discovered rhythm behind a drum kit at five years old, providing the creative spark for a journey that would eventually lead him into electronic music. That early connection to percussion continues to inform his work today, giving his sound a natural sense of groove while reflecting a lifelong interest in the emotional possibilities of sound.
Since introducing himself in 2022 with the debut single “Playing With Fire,” Tugen has developed a catalogue driven by exciting sonic exploration. Returning with new material in 2023, he continued to expand his musical horizons through a series of releases that showcased both technical flair, an eagerness to develop and a knack for impactful sound design. Along the way, collaborations with artists including Julia Ortiz, Davini, Snow and Gabi Calderon added new perspectives to his work, allowing him to experiment with different creative approaches while gradually forging his own artistic identity.
Tugen spent several years searching for a sound that genuinely reflected who he wanted to be as an artist and that openess to experimentation became an essential part of his creative process. The search reached an important moment in February this year with “Sol,” the debut outing issued through his own imprint, Alterego Records. The release marked the beginning of a new artistic chapter built around house music but enriched by live instrumentation, organic textures and Brazilian influences.

Now Tugen continues that journey with “Sonho Sem Fim,” the second single released as part of an upcoming three-track EP. The new single expands the style first introduced by “Sol,” continuing the story of an artist rediscovering his musical vision after years spent exploring different genres in search of his own voice. Inspired by artists such as Jorge Ben and Tim Maia, his latest work draws from the spirit of bossa nova and samba while remaining tethered to modern electronic production, resulting in a sound where organic instrumentation sits alongside modern house rhythms.
“Sonho Sem Fim” bubbles into view with the patter of percussion, intricate instrumentation and delicate vocal layers, crafting an upbeat, dance-focused scene that rolls with grooving bass pulse and euphoric vibes. Above the steady punch of kick and bounce of piano, a warm arrangement glides alongside charming vocal elements to craft a stunning jam that’s transportive and energising in equal measure. Peppered with spacey synth flickers and progressing through an uptempo bossa nova-inflected breakdown, “Sonho Sem Fim” sees Tugen deliver a magical musical moment that’s truly impossible not to love.
By combining Brazilian musical heritage with modern house production, he creates something that feels highly original and instantly engaging. Through Alterego Records and this developing body of work, Tugen appears focused on exploring a sphere of electronic music that carries the soul of Brazil while remaining sophisticated and internationally appealing.
With “Sonho Sem Fim,” that vision becomes even clearer, capturing an artist who’s arrived through years of experimentation with a new sense of purpose and a sound that feels entirely his own. As the next chapter of his forthcoming EP plays out, Tugen continues to go from strength to strength with each move and we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store next.
