Atlanta-based artist Atticus Roness has quickly become a beloved name in his local music scene, combining prolific songwriting with a magnetic stage presence and a knack for breathing new life into classic sounds. Since arriving in 2023 with his debut single “So What” and first album Square One, Atticus has marks himself as a cherished figure in Atlanta and beyond. Now, with his most ambitious release thus far, he’s putting his own spin on the enduring spirit of rock ’n’ roll music.
Rock ‘N’ Roll Hit Parade is an album built on affection for the golden age of rock music, but it’s no museum piece; Atticus Roness comes at the sounds that inspired him with energy, personality and a clear desire to make them his own. Across thirteen tracks, psychedelic pop, classic British rock, power pop, arena-sized anthems and highly personal songwriting collide, creating a record that feels engaging and thoroughly original.
The album’s been a long-running project, it began in 2021 with recording finally getting underway earlier this year. That extended development has resulted in a collection of songs that feel naturally connected, each track feeding into the next until Rock ‘N’ Roll Hit Parade arrives as a complete artistic statement as opposed to a selection of individual songs. The concept behind it was refreshingly straightforward, with Atticus wanting to make the record he himself would want to hear. That philosophy becomes increasingly apparent as the album moves between its different shades of rock and pop.

The opening “My Congratulations” immediately sets up the record with a hypnotic and layered sound, bringing together choir and sitar while concealing a backwards reference to the album title. From there, the record avoids settling into one predictable rhythm, with “Birds” leaning into psychedelia while “Trigger Finger” and lead single “Lovebombs” deliver infectious rock energy.
Atticus also reveals a more emotional side on tracks like “It’s All” and the epic “Wives’ Tale,” demonstrating the range of his songwriting and performance, showing that the album’s ambitions extend beyond riffs and hooks. Tracks including “Rubber Soul,” “Savior” and “No Lie” combine intricate melodies with vintage rock swagger, while “Eyeliner” injects the collection with a high-octane burst of energy.
Then there’s “I’ll Have Fun,” Atticus’ favourite track, which captures the warmth and vocal appeal of classic pop, offering another reminder that his relationship with rock history isn’t restricted to one particular sound. He’s interested in the hooks, textures, performances and sheer sense of possibility that made those records endure. By the time “Satisfied” arrives, the record has travelled through psychedelic colours, rock n’ roll swagger, pop warmth and more emotive areas. The closing track provides a heartfelt finale, but rather than bringing the experience to a definitive stop, it leaves enough behind to make starting the album again feel like the obvious next move.
Produced by Brian Collins, Will Turpin and Caleb Heiple, Rock ‘N’ Roll Hit Parade brings together a talented team of musicians and collaborators to realise Atticus Roness’ vision with warmth and explosive energy. It’s an album that understands the power of classic rock, with Atticus Roness taking the sounds he loves, turning up the volume and taking it forward in his own exciting way.
