London-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Headmaster’s story sits at an unusual overlap of music, leadership and community. Originally from North Wales, he’s spent decades developing a creative identity alongside a life defined by responsibility, resulting in music that carries the perspective of experience, exploring the complex facets of human emotion while remaining instilled with melody, structure and a personal sense of expression.
His relationship with London began in the 90s when he arrived with the band Firetown and entered a city in constant motion. The capital’s musical diversity provided an early environment in which his songwriting voice could develop, opening up opportunities for collaboration and performance while shaping the artist he would eventually become. Over time, that voice moved towards something more personal, eventually finding its clearest expression through his solo work.
Alongside his creative endeavour, Headmaster serves as CEO and Executive Headteacher of the Hertswood Academy Trust, where his professional life is focused on education and responsibility. That connection between art, people and wellbeing extends into his support for mental and physical health charities, including Herts Mind Network and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. In 2020, he made his entrance as a solo artist with the debut EP Darjemin, before returning last year with a series of singles leading towards more ambitious project.
That project became the Seasons tetralogy, a four-part album series designed around the meteorological calendar. Beginning with Seasons Vol.1: Summer in June, followed by Autumn in September and Winter in December, the series recently reached its conclusion with Seasons Spring, Vol.4, which arrived in March this year.

Now Headmaster returns to Seasons Vol.1: Summer with “Making Waves (2026 Remaster),” a new collaboration with local musicians and the third part of the updated Summer release. The remastered track continues a project that’s already forged a connection between his musical identity and the wider community around him, an element that’s central to the wider Seasons project.
The Vol.1: Summer release features the school shield, while the tetralogy and updated remasters such as “Making Waves” help support Herts Mind Network and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. Jumping into a bouncy pop rock scene with Headmaster’s bright vocal leads rolling above strummed guitar, crowd noise and alluring backing vocals. With the punch of drums and pulse of bass bringing an engaging groove, the track swells into a stunning chorus brimming with soaring vocals carrying instantly memorable melodies above rousing instrumentation.
With Headmaster’s impassioned voice flowing alongside delicate backing vocalisations, the song presents a dazzling listening experience that’s memorable and anthemic throughout. With “Making Waves (2026 Remaster),” Headmaster continues to revisit and expand the Summer chapter while carrying forward the wider spirit of Seasons. As he continues to go from strength to strength as a talented singer-songwriter on the rise, he’s sure to win over more and more listeners across the UK and beyond with his captivating musical offering.
