Ruby Chase is a DJ, vocalist and producer who views music as something that can do more than fill a dance floor, using sound frequencies and bass as catalysts in her magnetic performances and well-received studio releases. Having toured around the world, she’s also absorbed the local sounds and flavours of the places she encounters, feeding those experiences back into a musical world where global dance music meets ethereal vocals, ritual and community.
Her sets stitch Shanti-inspired energy into worldly dance music, deep tribal bass and floating angelic highs, bringing original material and live vocals into the mix alongside interactive invitations. It’s a performance style that turns the dance floor into something closer to a ceremony, with the audience encouraged to become part of the journey. Her output has made her a festival favourite, community pillar and highly regarded ceremonialist with performances built around movement through contrasting musical spaces, allowing deep bass-heavy passages to sit alongside more delicate and ethereal moments.
Her latest musical chapter arrives through “Own Lover,” a collaboration with Chiang Mai-based Watashi, a melodic electronic artist whose music is informed by his upbringing in Japan. His sound combines traditional Eastern instruments with modern dance production, creating a sound that brings together cultures and eras. Known for high-energy performances, he brings melodic trap, world bass and drum and bass into thrilling sets designed to ignite the dance floor.

Together, Ruby Chase and Watashi lean into a more intimate sound on “Own Lover,” presenting a dreamy and blissfully melodic electronic pop outing about the love that can rebuild you after heartbreak, positioning self-love not as a quiet conclusion but as an act of renewal. As the third single lifted from Ruby’s upcoming debut album GARDENS, it represents the emotional centre of a much larger creative vision.
“Own Lover” revolves around a contrast where stripped-back verses create space for emotion, before opening into a chorus designed to carry both tears and healing at once. Brought in by soft piano tones and airy vocalisations which flutter in the distance, Ruby’s soothing voice glides in with alluring melodies carrying heartfelt lyricism as the mellow pulse of the beat introduces a laid back rhythmic sway. Flowing with twinkling instrumental elements, the percussion drops out to leave Ruby’s voice hanging in the musical atmosphere before gently floating into a dance-tinged chorus.
Peppered with intricate instrumental elements, propelled by a smooth groove and capped by Ruby’s enticing vocal performance, “Own Lover” sees the pair lay down a dazzling musical experience that’s memorable, meaningful and mesmeric all at once. The next stage of Ruby’s vision is The GARDENS Experience, an immersive live show combining dancers and projections. Ruby Chase will bring the experience to eight major markets across the fall and winter, travelling to Los Angeles, Nevada City, Salt Lake City, Austin, St. Petersburg, Miami, Asheville and Denver.
Across her work, Ruby Chase continues to treat music as a meeting point between sound, movement, community and purpose. From bringing global dance sounds to a festival set to pairing ethereal vocals with Watashi’s electronic production, her aim remains tethered to a sense of connection. With GARDENS beginning to bloom, Ruby Chase is building a musical world where the dance floor can become both celebration and ceremony.
