Over the last few years, Barcelona-based duo PALLADIAN have been making an impact with an electronic sound built around the overlap of organic textures, warm harmonies and slick grooves. Since first unveiling their shared musical vision in 2020, the pair have explored the range of electronic production while keeping sight of the human details that give music its emotional context. Their work moves between atmospheric listening and intricate rhythmic energy, creating soundscapes that are reflective, energising and wholly absorbing all at once.
Their first run of singles mapped out their original sound, leading to the release of their debut EP, Surfaces, in 2021. The project quickly attracted support from listeners, tastemakers and radio stations which instantly confirmed PALLADIAN’s status as a must watch act on the rise. Collaborations with artists including Emancipator, Yppah and Tor subsequently expanded their creative world, while 2023 brought their first full-length album, Ocra, released through Loci Records. Each step added another side to a project defined by the relationship between electronic structures and more natural, organic sounds.
PALLADIAN’s music has also found a compelling life beyond the studio; their immersive live shows have become an important part of their identity, bringing the duo’s carefully constructed productions into a setting where atmosphere and movement can work together. Over the past year, they’ve performed across Europe alongside Parra for Cuva, Tycho, Catching Flies and Fejka, artists whose work similarly explores the expansive sphere of electronic music.

Releases with Anjuna and Enhanced, alongside a recent collaboration with Parra for Cuva on his latest album, have continued to expand their sonic output but PALLADIAN’s latest material signals a turn towards something altogether more personal. Their brand new single titled “Jacaranda” finds the duo channelling a dreamy electronic sound shaped by a melancholic autumn atmosphere which trades energy for a more measured sense of movement. Soft, organic guitar recordings drift across laid back percussion, while deep Rhodes melodies provide a warm aesthtic throughout the arrangement.
Brought in by soft synth tones and drifting textures, a hazy atmosphere forms as the delicate taps of percussion crafts a mellow groove which builds with snapping hi hats and bubbling instrumental elements. Flowing with gliding bass lines and plucked notes, the track casts a mesmeric, dance-focused soundscape that’s at once invigorating and transportive. Wrapped up in immersive sound design and dashed with intricate melodic flourishes, it’s a grooving downtempo electronic jam that puts PALLADIAN’s creativity and production panache on full display.
The track’s emotional centre sits in its image of watching the seasons change beneath a jacaranda tree, with that sense of transition lending the song a quiet poignancy, connecting its instrumental details to the passing of time. As the first single from PALLADIAN’s upcoming EP, “Jacaranda” also opens the door to a new chapter in their developing electronic sound. After a period of prolific releases, remixes and collaborations, the duo appear ready to explore the quieter spaces within their music and we can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store next.
