New album from Kate Ellis

Country-folk artist Kate Ellis was born in Louisiana and grew up in New York but has since moved across the Atlantic to the UK where she now bases herself in London. Despite her international lifestyle, from her southern USA roots she draws her sound with influence from her Father who was played on stage with Hank Williams.

For Kate, music is always about emotion, which she weaves into her writing hoping to instil a connection with listeners and strong emotional sentiments. Commenting on her music she shares, “I hope that whatever people get from my music, they’ll be moved. I hope that they’ll find something that is beautiful and truthful. I don’t think that you can connect with any real emotion without truth.”

She now brings us her latest release with her sophomore album, titled Spirals. The record was written about getting lost in the maze of obstacles and pain we all encounter in life and how we spin ourselves in circles trying to fix things we can’t or solve a pain without a cure.

Produced by John Reynolds, who has previously worked with prestigious artists such as Sinéad O’Connor, the Indigo Girls, Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno, The Cranberries and many others, the album is a stunningly crafted journey through emotion delivered by captivating vocals and delicate modern folk arrangements. Ultimately, across the ten beautiful songs, Kate Ellis shares her soul searching that allowed her to quiet the thought storms and find her balance in the world. An intimate window into the life experiences of an accomplished artist, on Spirals Kate Ellis offers a breathtaking sonic work that demonstrates her exceptional writing and performance talents.
