Hailing from Alabama, CHANDLER is a singer-songwriter who draws inspiration from real sounds and personal stories. Mixing his inspirations with chilled pop vibes, he creates music that delivers an emotive sound led by his smooth and soulful vocal work carrying his poignant lyricism.
Now based in Los Angeles, he’s worked with artists all over the USA from New York to Nashville to Portland on his new project. Influenced by the likes of LAUV, JP Saxe and Finneas, his music offers a shimmering modern pop style full of catchy melodic writing and perfectly crafted arrangements.
Following the release of the recent single “In the Movies”, he brings us his new EP, titled Brent. The five-track release features “In the Movies” as the first single, sitting alongside the blissful and delicate ballad-esque “Molly”, the grooving “Mixed Signals”, the bright and catchy “Family Drama” and capped off by album closer “No Matter”.
Across his new EP, CHANDLER shares the very best of his sound with an engaging listen of infectious pop music throughout. Commenting on the release, he shares, “Brent is such a freeing project for me. I didnāt realise how therapeutic the process would actually be to delve into my own insecurities. When I moved to LA I āhad to rebrandā according to everyone who was trying to āhelp me.ā I ditched my middle name, Brent, that everyone my whole life had called me by and started going by my first name, Chandler.”
Continuing, “I changed so much about myself and finally got to a point of fuck it. Fuck the industry. Fuck the people trying to āhelp me.ā Fuck me for believing anyone knows how any of this works. Iām done making music Iām told people want to hear. Iām here to make art. This EP is the first stage of reclaiming every part I lost. The cover art is me baring every little thing Iāve ever been insecure about and not only accepting it but putting it in a spotlight. This is me saying every part of being human is just as beautiful and much more powerful than any facade we could portray for the world. Fuck the fake shit. I want to be real. I want to be whole.”
