Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Graffiti Welfare is the solo musical endeavour of artist George Walker Lattimore. Taking influence from artists such as Animal Collective, Tame Impala and Radiohead, he crafts his own unique style of psychedelic indie rock that’s full of colourful melodic writing and blissful washy instrumentation.
With a sound that spans from ambient to electronic, from minimalistic pop to trippy psychedelic, his music offers an original flavour of creativity filtered through his own lens. Now signed to the imprint Milleville Music, he’s got an upcoming album on the near horizon, which has been five years in the making.
The ten track full-length release, titled Revolving Shores, sees the artist delve into a nostalgic sonic waterfall of music that’s as emotive as it is captivating. In the build up to the forthcoming record release, he’s got three lead singles planned, the second of which, “Just Follow” he shares with us now.
“Just Follow” showcases the beauty in simplicity. The guitar and synth based piece channels the very best of pure Kevin Parker writing and aesthetic full of soft melodies and chord progressions to create a dreamy pop lullaby. The artwork features the artist and his father holding his surfboard one of the first times he went catching waves and the release is accompanied by a cinematic music video full of abstract visuals and scenes to perfectly reflect the feeling of the music.
