Hailing from the Eastside of Los Angeles, Gabriel Munoz makes music with his own original light hearted and feel good style. Offering infectiously catchy hook-driven writing with flirtatious lyricism, his songs drip in west coast sunshine with a sound he describes as “straight forward pop.”
Since making his introduction in 2019 with his debut EP Dynamite, he’s since followed it up with last year’s sophomore EP release Ride. With an aim to make music that’s both exciting and euphoric for his fans, he delivers just that with his rhythmic modern pop sound with limitless commercial appeal.
Now he’s back with his latest work, the new single “Don’t Want Me”. On his new track he drops a brooding club cut that’s written about the aftermath of a rejection. Full of pounding beats and driving bass, the single lays down a timeless pop sound carried by Gabriel’s assured vocal leads backed up by shimmering synth-based instrumentation.
Juxtaposing a fun and upbeat sonic aesthetic with emotive lyrics, the artist penned the song after a guy told him he didn’t like him back. With “Don’t Want Me” he shares a cathartic and empowering slice of songwriting all wrapped up in an exquisite and alluring pop outing.
