Californian artist Joey Grace is a singer-songwriter and producer who plays the keytar, synths and percussion while using a vocal effects machine to create incredible on-the-spot harmonies and loops during her live performances. Described on stage as ‘Enya meets Marilyn Manson’, the Long Beach native strives to produce an entirely new musical experience with her live shows as well as her studio releases.
On her debut EP, 2018’s Beautiful Storm, Joey Grace set the tone for her artistic vision, delivering a six-track flurry of “sexygloom” music that explored the theme of duality. Influenced by the likes of Laurie Anderson, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Sophie, BT and Julee Cruise, she produces all of her own music and videos at the Joey Grace Studio as well as collaborating with other artists from all over the world.
With her latest release she shares her new single called “Biorobot”, the perfect taste of her brand of cinematic electronic music. Inspired by the eerie trend of humans being referred to as ‘biorobots’ when they were made to dispose of radioactive leftovers from the Chernobyl meltdown in 1986, on her new track Joey Grace demonstrates her talents at crafting ethereal sonic journeys wrapped up in her production prowess.
“Biorobot” offers an energising blend of synthesiser-led arrangements, shifting rhythms and spliced vocal lines to create a truly unique style of industrial electro. A fiercely original concoction of electronic textures, Joey Grace delivers an otherworldly soundscape that draws you in and immerse you in her innovative musical mind.
The multi-talented artist has also released an NFT called Biorobot to coincide with the single release which is available to check out here.
