Los Angeles-based indie pop band Sleeptalk have been making waves over the last 5 years with their own brand of upbeat alternative rock pop. Clocking over two million streams and being featured on various MTV shows, they’ve been winning over fans and tastemakers alike with their infectious sound.
The five-piece outfit is formed by members Anthony Fitzpatrick, Justin Melchor, Jason Fitzpatrick,
Paul Mcgill and Malik Dugan, each bringing their own talents to the project, making Sleeptalk a band that’s greater than the sum of its parts. Capturing the shimmering vibe of The 1975, paired with the energy and sonic aesthetic of Blink-182, it’s easy to see how they’ve made such an impression so far.
Over the last two years they’ve been writing and recording their highly anticipated sophomore record in Joshua Tree, California to follow up their eponymous debut album from 2017. The new full-length, titled Drown In A Rainbow, features eleven stunning tracks from a band at the very top of their game and shows just how far they’ve developed artistically over the years.
Commenting on their hopes for the album and their next steps, they share, “We hope to get back onto the radar that we were in back in 2019 before the pandemic. Our expectations for this album is to get us in front of a booking agencies and being able to tour with bigger bands/artists.”
Continuing, “A lot of the inspiration came from sleeping in an RV day in day out in the middle of nowhere with just the homies and no time constraints. We were able to really experiment in a multitude of sounds and tones that really played a big part in the album.”
Opening with the lead single “Dripping Colors”, a hit-worthy indie pop jam inspired by trying to make sense of the sensations of a psychedelic experience, Sleeptalk sets the tone for their latest LP. Laying down a dazzling journey through their newest works, Drown In A Rainbow charms and delights throughout on a record that’s made to soundtrack your most memorable summer.
