Formed by singer and lyricist Bailey Tzuke and musician and composer Matthew Racher, T.I.G.Y is a new indie pop duo from the UK. The project was created as a musical adaptation of the diary left behind by Bailey’s late aunt; titled ‘thoughts I give you’, it also gives its name to T.I.G.Y.
Last year, the duo made their artistic entrance with their debut track titled “Only Way to Let the Light In”, inspired by the diary and forming a posthumous connection to a lost relative. Since then, they’ve had their music supported with radio airtime on BBC Introducing and have built on their stunning offering of alternative dream pop by dropping a string of singles over the last year.
Working in collaboration with producer Cameron Blackwood, who’s previous credits include George Ezra, Eaves, Billie Marten and Gavin James, T.I.G.Y. bring us their debut EP, titled Sunny Dog Days released via Republic of Music. Covering themes of hearts and minds, motherhood, struggle, nature and relationships, with the six-track release they lay down their ethereal sonic vision.
Featuring the lead single and the band’s first love song, “When You’ve Had Enough” is written about learning to love someone in a way they need. Carried by elegantly soaring vocal work, they float through challenging topics in their writing, wrapped up in their tender sound.
From start to finish, on Sunny Dog Days they craft an immersive electronic pop journey that pulls you in and leaves you wanting more. Now finishing their upcoming debut album set to drop later this year, they’ve been establishing themselves on the UK live scene with shows in London, Guildford and Bath.
