Hailing from Los Angeles, Alex Beck is an independent artist who grew up on classic rock and euphoric 80s pop, listening to everything from The Rolling Stones to Madonna. Going on to study her passion at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she became engrossed in the world of the sonic arts and found her own voice and style.
Picking up new influences along the way such as Tame Impala, Angel Olsen, The 1975, and Maggie Rogers, she developed her own craft further by blending synthesisers, rock guitar and her authentic storytelling lyricism. Carried by her powerful vocal work, her music offers an instantly memorable sound full of immersive and atmospheric arrangements and punchy driving rhythms.
Over the last two years she’s dropped a string of well-received singles as she shares her creative vision with the world. Following on from the single “Wishful Thinking” released earlier this year, Alex Beck is back with her latest release and the new track “Tunnel Vision”.
Written about the kind of electrifying love that induces a magic feeling you get from a connection with someone, the song perfectly captures those emotions with its ethereal energy. The break towards the end of the track serves as a sonic metaphor for the tunnel of love that you lose yourself in, surrounded by a tapestry of layered synths, lofty vocal lead and indie rock guitar work.
Recorded in her home city of Los Angeles, “Tunnel Vision” sees Alex Beck continue to go from strength-to-strength on a release that’s as emotive as it is catchy.
