Ellie Dorman drops new single “Pretend”

Based in the south east of London, Ellie Dorman is a rising artist making fiercely original, genre-bending music. Taking influence from the likes of GreenTea Peng, DJ Zinc, Roni Size and Nina Simone, Ellie Dorman has been turning heads with her beat driven sound since making her introduction in 2015 with her debut EP October.

Followed up by her breakout debut full-length record in 2017 with Twelve, she delivered an epic sonic run through of her limitless creativity carried by her unique vocal work backed up with a hazy array of electronic textures. Earning a nomination for Best Concept Album in the 2018 Interactive Media Awards, she continued to evolve artistically with her 2019 sophomore EP Neat & Far while bringing her compositions alive on stage with her band, playing all over London and at festivals such as Lechlade and Daxtonbury.

Going on to support ambient music duo AVAWAVES on their UK tour, Ellie Dorman has built a reputation for always offering something new. With each new move taking surprising twists, she now brings us her latest work with her brand new single titled “Pretend”.

Laying down her most energetic cut to date, on “Pretend” she crafts a grooving song written about heartbreak. Laced with attitude, on “Pretend” Ellie Dorman takes aim at fakeness and inauthentic behaviour with her latest alternative pop anthem.

Packed full of piquant instrumental tones, atmospheric synth textures, a punchy UK garage style beat and capped by her mesmerising vocal work, with her new single Ellie Dorman drops another track that’s entirely new while still distinctly hers.
