Hey Carsten, how are you?
I’m fine, I’m already working on new projects
Which artist was the first to leave a lasting impression on you?
I can’t really say, there’s always been so much different music around me. I always think of the artists who mastered their genre with virtuosity
What is your earliest memory of making music?
Even when I was very small, I had the opportunity to play instruments. So I can’t answer that exactly
Which artists are you most inspired by today?
From those who are very good in their genre. I’m open.
How else do you find inspiration for your music?
In the SILENCE. Music from the outside actually bothers me when I’m working. There is so much music in my head that other music or noise would only interfere
What do you love about your local music scene?
The informality with which music is made here
What do you think is the perfect environment for listeners to enjoy your sound?
Relax with a drink in cozy surroundings
How has your own style and sound evolved since you started?
My style and sound became more and more professional. At some point I started not to be impressed by the judgments of some pseudo-experts, but to do what I felt like doing.
How did you find making your new single “I have been waiting”?
Very satisfying. I’ve always wanted to do a blues song like this. But I have to say that the singing comes from a studio singer who doesn’t want to be named, because he makes other music. So it is astonishing what he has performed.
What message did you want to convey with this publication?
No Message. It is only Blues
Which artist did you last listen to?
Several: BB King, Sting, Pink Floyd
What do you want people to learn most from listening to your music?
The realisation that the world is beautiful and pleasant. Music is something beautiful and should not be used to exchange violent speeches.
What has been your favourite live performance so far?
All were beautiful!
Who would be the three artists who would headline your dream festival? And where would it be?
There is already a dream festival. The name is “Crossroads” in America. Eric Clapton and his crew always manage to put together great lineups!
Do you have any advice for a new artist looking to follow in your footsteps?
Yes! do your thing! Don’t be swayed and deceived by fools. Making and writing music is art and should be appreciated as such. Artists must also be able to make a living from the work they do. And this happens when you make your music and not music for critics.
Finally, what are your plans for the rest of 2023?
Keep making music
