Dr. Sounds is the alias for musician and producer Alexander Forselius, an artist who’s making a name for himself in the ambient electronic world. Born in Romania during the early 90s, he spent a significant part of his childhood in an orphanage, an experience that left a lasting mark on his identity and approach to music.
As the son of a drummer in the legendary rock band Tom Trick, music courses through Forselius’s veins. His sonic signature is a fusion of ambient and electronic elements, drawing influence from visionary artists like Darude, Brian Eno, and Carbon Based Lifeforms.
With his latest release, “Aquaflow,” Dr. Sounds invites listeners on a unique and spiritual journey with an exploration of the flow of bathing. This ambient piece is a reimagined version of his previous track, “Aquaholium,” enhanced with deeper reverb textures and the inclusion of nature and water samples.
From the very beginning, “Aquaflow” immerses the listener in a sensory experience reminiscent of being enveloped in a soothing aquatic embrace. The composition opens with the gentle splashing sounds of water, a tranquil prelude to the voyage that awaits.
Warm and ethereal synth textures weave an intricate tapestry, conjuring a soporific ambiance that slips the listener into a meditative reverie. These synths move playfully, like graceful swimmers navigating an aquatic realm, their movements accented by the fluidity of reverb that surrounds them.
The song uses the ever-present sounds of water to guide the listener through this ethereal experience, evoking a profound sense of weightlessness as one glides through liquid realms. The listener is transported to a tranquil oasis where the boundaries between the self and the aquatic environment blur, allowing for reflection and contemplation.
