Gianni Bodo is a Montreal-born singer-songwriter, who’s successfully added his name to the story of music over two decades, demonstrating his talent in producing and performing across three languages. His debut solo album, Fade to Rose, released in 2014, catapulted him into the spotlight, earning accolades as one of the year’s most significant music revelations.
Since then, Gianni’s musical journey has seen him earn international recognition, featured in numerous radio and television broadcasts, newspapers and magazines. His collaborations with leading artists like Juno award-winning producer Pierre Marchand and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Colin Devlin have also confirmed his status as a celebrated artist across Canada and beyond.
During the global pandemic, Gianni released “Hurricanes and Butterflies” in 2020, a poignant single that secured rave reviews and extensive radio support around the world. The following year, “Si Je Pars,” his first commercial French-language single co-written with Nicholas Eede, charted across Quebec, making history as the first French-language song to reach the finals of Canadian Music Week. Gianni’s sonic skills extends beyond the studio, commanding grandiose arena rock spectacles as a festival headliner and winning over audiences with performances alongside Italian rock icons Claudio Baglioni and Umberto Tozzi.
Now he brings us his latest release with his brand new six-track EP titled DĂ©synchronisĂ©s, offering the perfect snapshot of the latest chapter of his decorated musical story. Starting the release of with the introductory piece “Les FantĂŽmes,” the short minute long piece sees Gianni Bodo craft a dreamy soundscape of pulsing synth tones and atmospheric textures as his emotive vocals hover above to deliver a mesmerising pice to open the EP.
Injecting his anthemic rock sound on title track “DĂ©synchronisĂ©s,” the twang of lightly gritty guitar chords underpin his bright vocal leads as he dances out alluring melodies above the rising arrangement of pumping bass lines and punchy drums. Spinning instantly memorable vocal hooks in the chorus wrapped up in a buoyant indie rock sound, the result is a timeless and truly charming slice of French rock music delivered via stellar musicianship and stunning vocal performance.
The remastered version of his first French language hit “Si Je Pars” follows with an uptempo rhythm and vibrant blend of intricate guitar flutters driven by snapping drums and capped by Gianni’s expressive vocals. Lead single “Le Silence” casts an enchanting rock music spell with a superb outing that bends from the hushed tones of the verses to the lofty rock aesthetic of the choruses as the artist’s threads subtly moody melodic leads over the rolling shuffle of drums and piquant synth tones.
On the Exile Mix of “Vole,” Gianni links with Pierre Marchand to serve up a dance-focused rock sound that shines with bouncy energy and dazzling vocal leads to offer a catchy sound packed full of slick dynamic flow and rhythm. Closing the EP with a remastered version of “Attends-Moi Dan L’ombre,” Gianni lays down a delicate sound of elegant vocals floating over graceful guitar-led instrumentation as lush female vocals back up his lead voice to form a delightful finale to his sensational new EP.
