Newcomer producer and artist Engello Doll rises from the shadows of his mysterious persona, whose musical output is as exciting as the enigmatic aura he’s shrouded in. Originally hailing from Medellin, Colombia, Engello Doll has corssed continents in pursuit of his musical dreams, from Spain to the music scene of Los Angeles.
His unique sound, still in its nascent stages, has already begun to catch the attention tastemakers and fans alike, hinting at an exciting future. Drawing inspiration from a huge range of artists including Eric Prydz, Bronson, Rufus Du Sol, Gesaffelstein, and Armin Van Buuren, Engello Doll crafts a highly original electronic sound that’s struck a chord with listeners around the world.
Marking his official entrance into the music world, Engello Doll presents his debut EP, Electric Tears. This four-track release is a vibrant homage to the pop rock and trance music of the 2010s that shaped his teenage years.
Created during the pandemic while developing his production skills in Spain, Electric Tears stands as a superb showcase of Engello Doll’s growth and deep passion for dance music. From the opening title track “Electric Tears,” listeners are immediately pulled into a beat-driven trance as the plucks of guitar provide an echo of his initial rock inspirations. Crafting an immersive sonic journey, the constantly shifting arrangement delivers spectacular ebb and flow from the soothing, dreamy moments to bursts of danceable synth-driven bursts met with the crunch of distorted guitar that clickers between sustained chords and rhythmic stutter.
“Soulless” casts a hazy sonic spell with whispered vocalisations hovering above the subtly lively patter of drums and guitar plucks, taking the listeners on an expansive six-minute ride through Engello Doll deep imagination and creativity. “The Boy Is A Gun” sees the artist lean into his dance-focused sound with a stomping rhythm and smokey vocal elements backed with warbling synth textures.
Closing the EP with “Beautiful Disaster,” the track serves up another deep dance outing brimming with a dark moodiness contrasted by the bright flutter of airy synth tones. Across Electric Tears, Engello Doll makes an emphatic entrance and compelling artistic statement that signals an exciting musical adventure ahead for this thrilling new artist.
