Berlin-based production duo AFAR seek to bridge the distance between the natural and the industrial, exploring the paradox between organic and electronic.
In some spaces, AFAR might build dance-oriented rhythms layered with haunting vocals. Whereas in others, the band creates moments of ambience composed of multi-instrumental soundscapes through a combination of analog and live production.
Their latest piece, ‘Krafttier Schnecke’, shows their penchant for building deeply atmospheric and dark electronic worlds, dropped via Berlin imprint Fernab. Blending slowly pounding percussive rhythms with unnerving instrumental plucks, AFAR deliver a sound that’s equally grooving as it is haunting.
