Nottingham-based artist and producer Joshua Nathan Boam makes deep ambient, melodic house music under the name BOAM. Starting off as a drummer in the band world, playing and touring alternative rock and pop music Josh combines his love for powerful melodies, catchy hooks and chilled rhythms to create the first chapter of his new story.
With his first releases under the BOAM moniker, he gives us a taste of whats’t to come with the track “Discolour”. The debut release offers a bold, driving house piece full of punching rhythm, deep bass and melodic synth work. Smoky vocal sample work adds catchy top lines on this epic electronic work.
Commenting on the track, the producer offers, “This deep house/progressive house song is my first solo release outside of the band world. It portrays the feeling of driving at night or watching a sunset. The feeling of relaxation and gratitude. For me the song is a journey from start to finish, being the most relaxed and believing you can do anything life throws at you.”
Continuing, “The deep atmospheric sounds and space to the tracks gives me this feeling, this was the reason I went for the instrumentation, sound design and efx I did. The ambient but powerful melodies stick in your head for weeks after. This track is the start of my solo musical journey, I hope you all enjoy it and want to continue to follow my story.”
