Over the last few years, Jessie Altman has been making an impact with a creative output that blends emotionally compelling songwriting, soulful vocals and a sharp sense of style. Based in New York, the singer-songwriter and live performer has developed an artistic vision that reaches beyond music, moving between contemporary pop and the world of fashion. With a growing catalogue, high-profile performances and an expanding presence across both industries, Jessie is building a career around genuine artistic expression, versatility and a thoroughly cinematic aesthetic.
Making her artistic entrance in 2020, she unveiled her original sonic vision with the debut EP No Rules mapping out the sonic vision that would continue to develop across her subsequent work. Four years later, 2024 became a significant turning point when Jessie took her music on the road with BBMAK and Tyler Hilton before releasing her debut album, Aftermath, in June. The record brought further momentum, earning major playlist placements on Apple Music and Pandora while helping confirm Jessie’s status as a must watch artist in the modern pop music sphere.
That momentum continued with Sleepwalking, an EP released in March and produced by Grammy Award winner Jason Lehning and mixed by Grammy Award winner Craig Alvin. Alongside her recorded output, Jessie’s growing reputation has been informed by her performances, including a livestream event with Wheatus, a national appearance on The Tamron Hall Show and appearances on regional morning shows across the USA and Canada, including SiriusXM Canada’s The Breakdown.
Music, however, is only one part of her creative world; a regular presence at Paris Couture Week, she’s attended shows by Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Schiaparelli and Armani Privé, establishing a parallel connection between her musical identity and fashion. Her growing profile has also attracted attention from SPIN, People Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, Forbes, Numero Netherlands, Parade, Page Six, Galore and Flaunt.

Now she’s set to open an exciting new chapter with Lovelight, her sophomore full-length album and the latest work in an increasingly expansive artistic journey. Unveiled through singles including “Barcelona”, “For The Hell Of It” and now “Wanted,” the album represents another step forward for an artist whose work continues to balance emotional context with slick pop stylings. Arriving ahead of the album’s release on the 25th of September, the latest single titled “Wanted” presents a song that takes the idea of romance beyond the areas of the traditional fairytale.“I was never looking for a relationship. I was actively trying to avoid one – I didn’t want anyone to slow me down. But then I met someone and completely changed my mind. And it didn’t slow me down at all,” she shares.
Penned by Jessie and Hannah Huntley and produced by Sam Hollander, the track captures the unexpected moment when independence gives way to connection but instead searching for love, its narrator finds herself confronted by someone who changes her understanding of what she thought she wanted. Brought in by soft guitar plucks and the pulse of airy textures, the rustle of pattering drums ushers in Jessie’s alluring vocals as she spins smooth melodic leads carrying poignant lyrics, resulting in a mellow pop soundscape that’s memorable and meaningful in equal measure.
Rising into an infectious chorus, bright hooks ring out above the shuffling rhythm and intricate instrumentation, forming an intoxicating pop sound that’s impossible not to love. The song also arrives as Altman continues to strengthen her identity as a live performer and her recent three-city run took her to Songbyrd Music House in Washington, D.C., The Bitter End in New York City and Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Westport, Connecticut. She was joined by a band featuring Michael “Fish” Herring, guitarist Mat Dauzat, bassist Larry “Flex” Williams, keyboardist Alex Burke and drummer Dylan Elise, bringing an accomplished musical lineup to the shows.
Following the release of Lovelight, Jessie Altman will take another thrilling step with her first festival appearance at the Sag Harbor American Music Festival on September the 26th. As she continues to go from strength to strength with each move, we can’t wait to see what this exciting artist on the rise has in store next and with her highly anticipated second LP about to land, she’s sure to win over more and more fans from both the studio and the stage.
