2ŁØT arose from a period of uncertainty, bringing together five musicians who found themselves at a crossroads of personal and creative turbulence. By not allowing that disorder to define them, they turned it into the material for something more vital. Even their name embodies that impulse, a stylised reimagining of the second law of thermodynamics, with entropy crossed out and rewritten as an act of resistance. It’s a fitting starting point for a band that views music as a way of pushing against decline, transforming disarray into connection, movement and possibility.
Dubbing their sound as ‘electronic jam music,’ 2ŁØT work in the space where hip hop, funk, jazz, soul and rock collide with live improvisation and electronic production. There’s an inherent tension in that combination but that’s exactly what gives the music its appeal, offering songs that can feel loose and spontaneous while remaining shaped by electronic textures, allowing emotion and exuberance to form in the same space.
Their sound first found its full expression on Entropy, the group’s 2024 debut album which confirmed 2ŁØT as a must watch act on the rise. Tracks like “Never Knew You” and “Call For Me” exposed a deep emotional impact, while “Arrow of Time,” featuring Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident, pushed their sound towards a more cinematic setting.
“Sacrifice” offered another dimension entirely; written by the late soul legend Rudy Love Sr. and brought to life by his son and frontman Rudy Love Jr., the song connected 2ŁØT’s adventurous musical style with the tradition of soul storytelling. It highlighted the idea that their music can look in multiple directions at once, bringing improvisation, electronics and established musical stylings into the same conversation.

Now that sense of movement reaches a new stage with “I Want It All,” the final single ahead of sophomore album RE/SOLVE, arriving on September 25th. Featuring Mariel Jacoda, the track thematically revolves around what happens when you finally reach the life you once imagined, only to discover that you’re still searching. The desire to ‘be someone’ has been fulfilled, yet fulfilment proves less like a destination than another point on the journey and the song recognises that growth can alter the very things we once believed would satisfy us, opening the door to new ambitions, needs and versions of ourselves.
Formed with immersive instrumental textures and delicate vocal flutters, the song crafts an intimate scene that shifts with the lively rustle of pattering drums. With Rudy and Mariel engaging in a compelling duet above the atmospheric arrangement, the track glides with flashes of bright synth runs, slick lead guitar flourishes and wholly absorbing sound design while the contrast between driving beat-driven passages and moments of dreamy, stripped back aesthetic results in a truly engrossing listening experience from start to finish.
Ahead of the band’s highly anticipated second record, singles like “Favorite Star,” “Come Together,” “I Hurt Myself Again,” featuring Elise Trouw and 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Cameron McCloud and “Iris,” featuring GRAMMY-winning guitarist Eric Krasno and members of The Funky Knuckles, have continued to build the excitement. As the final preview, “I Want It All” offers another epic showcase of the band’s highly original sound while pointing to what’s sure to be an incredible full-length album.
