Hailing from the city of Krasnodar, Russian producer Nouan brings us the new track “Maya”, the title track from his recent mini-album. Drawing influence from the likes of Burial, Shlohmo, Flume, and Mulatu Astatke, he crafts his own dark ambient electronic sound.
Initially, the artist wanted to make music in the style of edm trap, after school he opened a FL Studio and tried to repeat the synths of his favourite tracks in serum – for a very long time nothing worked. As a result, after several years of trying to write something, he started to get some tracks together. He believes that he’s still at the beginning of his journey, with many things still to learn.
Commenting on what emotions he hopes to evoke for his listeners he offers, “My favourite mood in life is endless sadness, which sometimes changes. I want my tracks not to cause depression, but to accompany listeners on travels, quiet weekend evenings.”
With 12 new pieces in the works, Nouan is planning to release an album in the autumn, consisting of future garage tracks.
