Taking inspiration from the ambience of everyday life, Owari‘s sound develops its own honest personality with each production, offering a soft and thoughtful place for the listener to connect. This ability to connect is what drives Owari in his expedition for authenticity – a place many of us wish to be. Even in his early stages, the producer’s work is already showing a unique impression on the indie electronic genre.
Following his early features on BBC Music Introducing and late-night BBC Radio 1, he was asked to officially remix MJ Cole’s single “Pictures In My Head” with his debut single selected to be apart of Slow Magic’s mixtape for Apple Music.
Recently, singles from the Imperfectionist EP have accumulated over 60,000 streams and have featured on Spotify’s Selectronica editorial playlist. Additionally, the EP has been championed and supported by Charlie Bones from NTS Radio, Laurence Guy on Rinse FM, and by BBC Music Introducing. Owari’s influences stem from artists such as Maribou State, Indian Wells, and Gold Panda.
The artist now hosts a monthly residency on Balamii Radio, presenting a seamless exploration into the ambient and left-field music that inspires his wellbeing and the project.
Now Owari returns with a new single, “Human Creativity”, a track which started from an excerpt of AI generated music for his dissertation. “Human Creativity” blurs the lines between computer generated music and human composition, offering a blissful dreamy soundscape that weaves lulling rhythms with softly swirling sonic textures.
Commenting on the new track, he offers, “Adapting the generated piece of music, I was inspired by studying the difference between artificial and human created art. Audiences typically don’t consider the origin of a final product in the valuation, and I wanted to explore this idea by making something authentic from an artificial source.”
