Singer-songwriter Mark Hamilton brings us his epic cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic “Hurt”. The UK-based artist has collaborated with Polish violon virtuoso Jan Gałach to add his instrumental flare and bring a euphoric crescendo to the piece.
On his artistic endeavours, Mark offers, “For me, music is not a career choice. It is a higher calling, a way to draw attention to the silent epidemic of mental illness that has taken the lives of countless artists and individuals. I cover songs by musicians who were lost too soon to suicide and drug abuse.”
Adding, “By re-imagining these inspiring songs, I hope to show people who are suffering that they are not alone and that there is a huge community of people reaching out their hands. Above all, my music is meant to #breakthestigma and bring people together for an incredibly important, long overdue conversation.”
With their cover of “Hurt”, the pair deliver an emotive take on the original, injecting a new energy to a timeless sound. Hamilton belts out the lyrics with such passion that he truly makes this cover worthy of it’s conception, topped off with an electric violin solo that astounds.
