Indie Rock duo hailing from the woods of Norway End of Proof is comprised of childhood friends Jon Hammeren Nilsson and Tyge Møller Christiansen. Together they offer an indie rock sound that’s current yet still nods back to the pioneers of the genre of the 90s, owing in part to their DIY ethos of writing, producing, mixing and mastering everything themselves at home.
Following the release of their stellar debut album To Madness, the pair have released 3 new singles over the last year. The most recent of which is the epic indie anthem “Sad Kids Having Fun”, an energetic and nostalgic track inspired by memories and old photographs.
Lifting a reflective sound straight out of moments of their youth captured in black and white threads an emotive needle that conjures up sentimental warmth into the track which still holds their typical indie style. You can view the photos that gave inspiration for “Sad Kids Having Fun” on their website here.
Commenting on the new track, they share, “This song is about growing up, looking back and reflecting over the past. It was inspired by the feeling you get when you go back to your hometown after many years away. Walking down the same roads getting flashbacks and memories everywhere you go. I imagine many people will experience these nostalgic feelings going back to their families over Christmas.”
Adding, “The second verse describes how our drummer and I lived when we were younger. Emo kids staying up late, drinking, skating and not really thinking about the future at all.”
