Tel Aviv-based singer, songwriter and an Indie-Pop artist Lara Snow burst onto the scene when she released her debut EP Delete Forever in March 2020. The release, featuring the hit “Swim Far” quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of streams and gained the artist extensive support and radio airtime around the world.
Now she brings us her latest work, with the stunningly poignant stripped version of “Wild Sea”, originally taken from her debut EP. The new stripped back version, released ahead of her upcoming sophomore EP, offers a new sense of intimacy on her most personal song to date.
In the absence of broader instrumentation, her blissful vocals shine bright as alluring melodies weave above the piano backing to create a delicate and emotive song that opens a window to the artist’s frame of mind.
Recorded live in her living room during the first lockdown, the performance captures her vulnerability in her most fragile state. She explains, “All my songs are very personal, but with ‘Wild Sea’ I truly feel like my heart is out there for everyone to hold. It is the story of a poisoned relationship and a great heartbreak.”
Adding, “Staying at home for such a long time during the pandemic made me reach inside and look for a deeper meaning and a deeper truth. To return to the most basic instincts and habits, rediscover the joy in little things. Suddenly without stages to play I found myself returning to where it all began – my voice and a piano.”
