LA-based electronic duo Ed.1t met when they bonded over their shared love of house, funk and dance pop, drawing influence from the likes of Daft Punk and Disclosure. With their blend of catchy pop writing, grooving guitar riffs, punching bass lines and hard hitting beats, they took the world by storm with their hit 2018 single “Breathe”.
Reaching fans all over the world from the west coast city, they have a clear sonic vision, “We Want to bring soul back to the electronic music scene,” they share. With their latest EP, titled Rest Pt. 1, they’ve enlisted fellow LA artist Glass Lord to help infuse the soul into the EP’s lead single “Strangers” with his captivating vocal work.
The singer, who grew up in Switzerland and France, looks to his European upbringing for influence in his sound, paired with the hip hop and R&B styles he was exposed to after moving to the USA. With his smooth vocal delivery and reflective lyric writing, he brings the perfect offering to the new collaboration.
On “Strangers”, Ed.1t and Glass Lord drop a driving melodic house pop fusion that explores the desire to experience someone again for the first time. Beats pump and bass lines slap on this rhythmically charged dance piece offering the very best of Ed.1t’s synth-based instrumentation peppered with colourful funky guitar lines over which Glass Lord’s soaring vocals fly.
