Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Kristian Phillip Valentino is a singer-songwriter who crafts indie folk music of a profound and delicate nature. Now residing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, for the last year he’s been releasing one song every month that form his album, titled For Every Thing, There Is A Season.
Written in just seven days, the record was a cathartic creative expression to process a relationship that had ended. Following the seasons to which the title alludes to, it’s based on a true love story from his past. In Spring the relationship starts, in Summer love grows, in Fall it starts to break apart and in Winter, the relationship ends.
Across the twelve songs, the evolution of intimate human connection is retold with three songs connected to each season of the year. Moving into Winter, and the first of three songs that will recount the cold end of the relationship, “Wind, Hail, and Snow” opens the final chapter of the album.
Setting the stage for the break up to begin, on the new track the artist pours his emotions about impending heartache. Melancholic and stunningly arranged, sadness seeps from his every word on a song that offers the very best of reflective indie folk music wrapped up in a wintry atmosphere.
