Nightingale releases “Vermillion”

Melbourne-based producer and singer-songwriter Esmond Angeles makes electronic music under the Nightingale alias which was born to create meaningful soundtracks to our individual and collective journeys. Already an accomplished artist, his official remix of Doolie’s “Only For A Night” was released on renowned Australian label etcetc which led to him then releasing his own modern take on Two Door Cinema Club’s “Undercover Martyn” on the label.

Drawing influence from the likes of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Lastlings and SBTRKT and taking inspiration from the mood and joy that the Aussie summer brings, he’s released his own original music that resonates with listeners, kicked off with his debut EP Thrill, released in 2019.

Now he brings us his first release of 2022, with the new single “Vermillion”. Taking a dive head first into the more energetic side of his work, on his latest track he offers a bouncy electronic dance track driven by elating piano leads and flavoured with echoes of Paul Woolford and Calvin Harris.

Unveiling his upbeat and playful side, with “Vermillion”, Nightingale shows his ability at crafting grooving summer music that’s guaranteed to get people moving. With live shows with a full band lined up, this Australian artist is certainly one to watch this year and beyond.

Commenting on the new track, the producer offers, “I wanted to capture the buzz I had coming into summer after the year we had here in Melbourne. It was akin to the excitement of coming up to any big event in your life and wanting that time to be precious, joyful, and forever lasting.”

Adding, “You feel youthful, free, and devoted to making things count. This gave my production and songwriting on ‘Vermillion’ a focus on encapsulating this energy and feeling.”
