Singer-songwriter Ellie Madeland originally hails from the small village of Småland in Sweden. Having developed a passion for music from an early age, she decided to move to London in 2015 to pursue her artistic dreams and explore the UK music scene.
In 2019 she sought to make moves to write, record and release her own music, linking up with producer and multi-instrumentalist Gentle William to bring her songs to life. Together, they blend their respective musical talents of writing, performance and production to create something entirely new.
The first taste of that partnership comes with her debut single “Out of Nowhere”, a stunningly crafted ethereal indie pop piece laced with haunting vocal work to create an unhinged folk atmosphere. Delicate and melodically charged, a stripped back instrumental arrangement leaves room for Ellie’s soaring vocals to weave in a sea of dreamy and smoky textures.
The collaboration between Ellie Madeland and Gentle William shows no sign of slowing down, with a follow up single already set for release. The upcoming single, titled “Mother Mother” will be available on the 18th of March, you can follow Ellie on her Instagram to find out more.
