London-based electronic music producer Taz Hussain makes a variety of styles of music, most notably his dance music cuts, under the Shafkkat alias. Raised by an Italian mother and an English/Indian father, it’s the city of London that he consider to be his biggest influence, absorbing the vibrant music scene and cultures into his sound.
Known as a versatile producer, he makes music from warm downtempo grooves to upbeat explosive breaks. Recently he’s collaboration with the Spanish flavoured electro-pop and experimental electronic artist ROJAZ on a new track.
ROJAZ takes inspiration from artists such as Kelly Lee Owens, Kllo, Maribou State, Billie Eilish, and early FKA Twigs to make her atmospheric synth-based music full of delicate melodic writing. Together, they bring their respective talents to the table to deliver the single “Her”.
Inspired by the artists’ shared love of electronic music, they blend their sparse genre influences into the song. Weaving between high and low energies throughout the track, “Her” offers a smooth and rhythmic electronic track full of shuffling beats, smoky vocal textures and peppered with colourful synth instrumentation via their exquisite collaboration.
