Hip Hop from Jurnalist

Jurnalist is a solo hip hop artist, songwriter and sound engineer originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. More recently he moved out to Los Angeles, California where he started making music and found a collective of friends who were also producing their own work with the shared goal of breaking into the local LA music scene.

Taking influence from the likes of Big Krit, Big L, Feddie Gibbs, Andre 3000 and Max B, Jurnalist puts his lyrical writing front and centre of his creative work. He’s already been making waves the other side of the Atlantic with an independent tour of the UK in 2019 where he also shot a music video in London, played a show in afrobeat Dundee and gained radio support in Bristol too.

As a prolific creator of music, he’s been dropping a song every week on different streaming platforms. Now he brings us one of his new tracks, the single titled “Nighttime”, a beat driven track that features the artist’s rhythm-perfect flow and intelligent lyrics. An introspective song, the track lays down the soundtrack for anyone that is working on self-betterment.

Commenting on the track, he shares, “I wanted to make a song that I could listen to at 2 am driving through the city. the song itself is really a release for me since I was coming off a personal tragedy and really reflecting on life and what I wanted to do moving forward.”
