Indie Pop from Nightly Gatherings

Hailing from the Californian city of Chico, Nightly Gatherings has been producing music for seven years but began singing and writing his own work over the last year. The moniker of artist Connor Johnson, he draws influence from the likes of Porter Robinson, The 1975, Madeon, Bon Iver and ODESZA to create his own unique blend of electronic indie pop.

With his live music, Nightly Gatherings has opened for artists such as Slushii, Borgore, Dada Life, Getter, Gorgon City and Whethan as well as playing the online event Zaxx & Friends. As an all-round creative talent, he produces his music entirely by himself in his bedroom, the latest example of which comes in the form of his new single, “Time with U 2022”.

On the new single, he fuses his love of indie rock and hyper pop to offer an energetic modern sound full of catchy writing and exquisite production. Following the release of his debut album in December, the artist took a long look at his project and what it means to him; the result was creating a new single that delivers what his listeners would want next while also acting as a love letter to his favourite genres.

Commenting on the new track he shares, “My music taste has always been all over this place, Time with U 2022 was about making something new for myself that I have never heard. Time with U 2022 is about looking on this new year with the ones you love most. While we live in such a scary time, there’s always peace in knowing you won’t have to go through it alone.”
