In Brooklyn, NY, artists Andrea de Varona and Josh Ford form the duo known as Fake Dad. Together they produce synth-based electronic music in a wide range of genres that shows their broad writing and production abilities.
Writing and recording music from their tiny studio apartment, their shared love of music has meant they’ve been inseparable since the start of 2018. Drawing on their differing musical backgrounds and experiences, they bring their talents and influences together to make their own entirely distinctive sound.
After a string of releases and following their recent single “I Like The Beach”, they’ve now linked with producer Danny Ross to bring us their brand new track, titled “John Cusack”. Written over Zoom during lockdown in the height of the pandemic, the song effortlessly came together inspired by the thought that actor John Cusack in “Say Anything” is really just the Proto-Soft-Boy.
Fusing their catchy songwriting panache with energetic drum n bass style beats, on “John Cusack” Fake Dad deliver another infectious and melodically charged single that builds on their ability to craft exceptional synth pop music.
